Visiting Cotteridge Primary School with Chess in Schools and Communities

When I recently visited Cotteridge Primary School recently, I witnessed something truly inspiring. The school has partnered with Chess in Schools and Communities, a charity dedicated to helping children develop important life skills through the game of chess. Watching the pupils engage with the sessions, I saw firsthand how chess goes beyond being just a game it becomes a tool for building confidence, concentration, problem solving abilities, and resilience.

During my visit, I observed a lively chess session where pupils of different ages were fully engaged. The atmosphere was supportive and encouraging, with coaches guiding the children patiently. It was clear that the children were not only learning chess but also enjoying the challenge.
